Producer upgrade costs?
I have a question for all you Sonar Producer users out there... What is the average upgrade cost of Sonar Producer? I am debating on upgrading to Sonar X1 Pro from studio, and am trying to figure what the long term upgrade cost is. Thanks, Anthony

$99. I remember $79 and $89, but that seems long ago.

What I am trying to figure out is what is the average upgrade cost of Sonar Producer? I am sure there are many on this forum who have owned Producer for a good number of years.

I have! It's usually $99 to go from one Producer version to the next Producer version. The Cakewalk store is down as far as checking pervious orders, but from what I can see, it's been $99 since 2004 (not bad considering there has been no increase since 2004!). So... 7 Prod to 8 prod = $99 8 Prod to 8.5 Prod = $99 8.5 Prod to X1 Prod = $99

I've owned the Sonar4 Producer, then 7, 8, 8.5, and now X1. So, my upgrade path solely depended on my wants/needs. Some users are still on the older versions while many have upgraded regularly. Generally, the upgrade path for users with the latest version has been $99 (I think every year there's been a new version). It's going to be difficult for you to get an average as everyone hasn't gone for the latest version and upgrading depends on you personal needs.

Average upgrade cost? upgrade from what? how many years do you want averaged? I'm afraid your question is a little vague. I bought SHS4 originally, then Sonar 4 for upgrade for I think it was $250, then Sonar 6 for $179 then Sonar 8 for $179 then Sonar 8.5 for $79 then X1 should have been $99 (but I got that for free!)

As I recall, I upgraded from 6PE to 7PE in 2008 for £89 (UK Pounds). This was a discounted offer. The usual price was £119 (equivalent to more than $200) or even £179 at one stage.
