Very good. I am amazed at people who have the ability to ignore truth when it knocks them down and kicks them around. I have always heard that you can't fix stupid but ignorance can be remedied... I have grown to have my doubts about that.

Oh well... a paraphrase with an addition: ignorance is bliss (until it isn't).

You really need to see the musical 1776 ... and to hear Howard ds Silva tell John Adams ... "shut up John!"

No doubt invented by The Goons who used to do that much more than you can even think of and appreciate! Not quite as good as climbing Mt Everest from the inside though or being one of the Senna Pod drinkers!

Thomas Jefferson said a lot of things, but the phrase attributed to him in this post is so modern in diction and atypical of his writing that it screams of error. A little searching confirms that this is a misattribution of a speech delivered by Gerald Ford. It is also extremely unlikely that any modern president, especially Reagan, actually wrote many of the memorable quotes provided to him by his speech writers and quoted here.

    Hi,

"Everything I have ever told you is a lie, including that!"

"What do you mean, everything is a lie, then what am I supposed to believe in?

"Well, not me, Stanley! I'm the devil!"

Peter Cook and Dudley Moore in the original "BEDAZZLED" which they wrote, btw! And the end, about St Peter and the media is even better, and so true is hard to believe it was stated almost 45 years ago!
