Program Change on External Synth (Yamaha MOX8)

I have a Yamaha MOX8 synth.  I'm using it in program mode.  What I'd like to do is to have two MIDI tracks loaded with two different patches.  When I switch between the tracks, I'd like Sonar to send a program change command to the synth automatically so I hear the correct sound.

Currently the workaround is to select the track, then go and re-select the same patch and then I hear the sound.

I am aware that I could put the MOX in "song" mode and assign the MIDI tracks to separate MIDI channels, but I don't like using "song" mode.

Any suggestions?

well, the song mode option is the cleanest way.. instant swtiching of sounds by switching channels, but you can if you desire insert a PC command using the event list.
additionally, afaik the mox8 comes with a VST editor... perhaps use that.?
