Programming CCs

Hello Forums,

Could anyonee point me to how I can customize my CCs in Sonar? I'm trying to filter out CC #1s so it stops adjusting my volume settings in Kontakt instruments.

Thanks!

Christopher.

CC 1 is Modwheel. CC 7 is Volume.

CC1 is the volume control for the Garritan Libraries - But, Christopher,--how are you managing to have it get into your projects if you're not recording it--?

But CC1 when used like that, or CC11, is meant as a dynamic volume control which is used rather constantly in a track.  You don't used it to just set volume settings as a set-and-forget thing.  You're confusing it with CC7 which controls the master volume for an instrument.  I think perhaps you're frustrated that Sonar is controlling the faders in Kontakt--?  In which case, the easiest thing to do is to just go ahead and use Sonar's MIDI faders to set your master volumes rather than insisting that you have to use the faders in Kontakt.  You can over-ride that - but it's really easier not to.

Then, once you've set your levels the way you want with CC7, then use CC1 or CC11 to play your instruments - keeping in mind that CC11 is the more universal volume control, and it's only the Garritan Libraries which use CC1 for volume.
