The VST option would offer at least one thing that ReWire does not. That would be the ability to transfer MIDI into the host program.

I agree with the comments made of running the same conversation in three threads and out of courtesy, I will like to continue this conversation in the "Cakewalk: Will there be a 2nd P5 feature release as promised?" thread as that seems to be the most relevant title right now.
