Project 5 freebies ?

Hi, new to this package and bought it last night.

I noticed there are some dimension pro expansion packs for free download on the project 5 site.

Do these work with the Dimension pro LE included in P5, or do I have to buy the full dimension pro.

Particularly after the guitar sound demonstrated on the video demo of the arpeggiatior.

cheers

Mat

Not to my knowledge - Version 2.5 (the download) is really a "buffet" type of offering: you get the basic meal and pick the extras you want for an additional investment.

    Cheers,

    Russ

thanks for the reply. I'll install it tonight and see what I get :)

Might need to buy some additional instrument packs sometime later. Are there anyones you would recommend for accoustic, or should I just plump for dimensions pro.

I've never got synth guitars to sound like the real thing, but I've heard the dimension pro guitars do it with someone that knows what they are doing - much like the demo.

Probably the best guitar emulation out there is by Prominy. Expensive , and a huge sample library, but it can fool top line pros when it comes to trying to tell the difference (allegedly). Certainly it is good enough I cant tell the difference.

as well as what syrath said, i'd also recommend checking out realguitar by musiclab for very realistic ac gtr

having said that, i'm spending far more time learning guitar right now than doing computer-based stuff (but playing along with cbs)

Manytone has some nice guitars to.
And for lead guitars try Slayer 2

Would suggest looking for Acid loop .wav samples of guitar, or a sampler with well recorded guitars suggested here (short of playing yourself and recording in).
As a long time guitar player-I can tell you that it is hard to get a convincing guitar sound unless one uses well recorded samples or plays themselves and records it in.
Lots of great loop packs out there for any most instrument.

Yes, the trick would be finding recorded .wav loops that do exactly what it is your needing it to do in your mix...
Otherwise you have to modify your mix to match what you find...
If its close I soppose that works...

Besides loop packs if you're just looking for a VST Wavelab's Real Guitar is the best I've played with...which is saying a lot as I actualy play guitar and this one sounded pretty good...the demo used to be a full working 30 or 45 days (something like that) with just some basic guitar sets to get a good idea of what it can offer.
