Project Mix I/O Setup

I have the following setup. Project Mix I/o and Axiom 61 midi controller. My question is this. Is it possible to use both of them to control certain functions of my Sonar 6 Producer? Right now I use the Project mix for the interface and the fader and transport control. I would like to use the Axiom 61 to control plugins such as the VC64. Right now I am just using the Axiom 61 to play syths. I would like to use a combination of the two.

You can use Options > Controllers/Surfaces to set up a controller surface to work with Sonar like the Axiom. The ACT MIDI Controller has a preset for the Axiom 49, which might work with the Axiom 61. You may need to read up a bit on Sonar's ACT feature to get things going.

    Scott,

I just got your book from amazon.com Friday and I have started reading it. I'm sure it will get me going. I have tried to set it up. I want to be able to use my faders and the transport of the projet mix, but also be able to use the axiom61 to control effects and plugins and session drummer2. Can you have more than one midi device added under control surfaces? When I add the Axiom, it changes the output port and makes my project mix quit working. Is there a chapter in your book about this?

    Again, the book is amazing!

nchardy, I have a setup similar to yours...I'm using the ProjectMix as Sonars main controller surface via its Mackie emulation , and then ACT on my midi keyboard to control other things. Great success with the first part, the ACT thing is still a bit hit or miss for me though.

    Hi Hardy,

Yes, you can add multiple control surfaces. Then using the ACT Learn feature, you can assign controls to Sonar parameters. Check out Chapter 12 in Sonar 6 Power.

    Thanks for reading my book!
