Project not playing -- FIXED

 -- I was messing around and did a little project last night, but today when I try to listen to it there's no playback.  Every other project I've tested has playback except this one.  At first the waveforms showed "Busy", but another post in the forum suggested deleting the picture cache, which I did, and the "busy" moniker went away, but still no playback.  When I hit play nothing happens, the time marker doesn't move, the play button doesn't change...nothing happens at all.  Like I said, other projects play fine.  What could be wrong with this one?

    This is a guess. Check the master bus. Is it assigned to your soundcard?

    thanks, but that doesn't seem to be it.  I do think, tho, that it might be sound card related (my Lexicon Alpha is my sound card).  It could also be my computer can't keep up....I don't know, it's very frustrating!

    I notice in your screenshot that Disc Space Meter is at 100% (in your Performance Module):
     

     
    Are you overdue for a defrag maybe?
     
    Also, check out "Audio dropout or crashes during playback" in the Help Files.

    Thanks Steve, I'll run a defrag overnight tonight. 
    I do think it's probably time to get a true recording computer tho! :)

    I ran a defrag but that didn't help.  I noticed, tho, that one of my unused tracks had Guitar Rig on it as an effect (I thought the problem might have been that I used too many effects), and when I took that off everything worked again.  So I guess my GR install is messed up, but I have the POD farm so I don't use it anyway.

    Coincidentally, I've had a few problems with Guitar Rig 4 myself. I had to install the latest update to get it working correctly.
