Project tempo issue/question

For some reason I am not able to adjust the tempo of my project like I used to.
If I remember correctly, in the past all I would do is go up to the tempo box and just type the new tempo in and bang, the tempo would change to the new one for the whole project.
But now when I do that, the tempo only changes for the first measure and then goes back to the previous.

What am I missing?

I found a way around it, but I still want to know if something is wrong or if I am doing something wrong.

    Tom,

Yes that should work unless you have a change in the tempo elsewhere in the measure. The way you can check that is to press the Alt key, hold it down and press the 7 key. This should bring up the tempo view window showing you the project tempo changes and at what measure the change is made at. If it is still not accepting the tempo changes then you might want to look at a reload fo the software to correct anything that might have gotten corrupted
