Meh....maybe I'll get a beta invite on this. Still years behind compared to other DAWs. You can't drag n drop a midi file on a track or change instruments on a track.

didn't upgrade last time.. will upgrade this time if I can get a boxed v8 from a local company, and get a grace period upgrade to v9.. for what they did with v8 , I thought they were asking too much tbh.

I have reason 8 and splat. But I can go on and on why splat is way ahead and better.

Looks too cluttered and complicated. Must be aimed at tech geeks crowd.
Sort of. It's a proprietary DAW which is quite stable but there are so many ways of doing things with it. I couldn't see someone running it on a laptop since the guis would be quite small. It is a unique way of creating music. I would be surprised if it lasts 10 years. Rumor has it they were impressed with Cake's membership model but I wouldn't pay for it unless it was $2 a month.

I liked it when it was a synth rack... I haven't upgraded for years and now I have stopped using it all together. Shame, I really liked the original Reason

Support depends on whom you get in contact with. I got Craig and he wasn't helpful at all, rather unsympathetic and a bit rude. To be more specific, I bought two Balance interfaces, at full price, both including an upgrade to the full new version of Reason. The first was registered some time ago and allowed me to upgrade as stipulated. When I wanted to register the second one, I was told the new upgrade wouldn't work because Balance is no longer a supported product. They could have simply stood by their product, but not only did they turn it into an "unsupported brick", they didn't even want to live up to their explicit upgrade promise. Furthermore, they killed their own forum. Guess I'll submit a consumer complaint in Sweden. Edit: have to add that, in the end, Craig did come through and honored the Balance upgrade promise.

And a Norwegian invention. Both parts of my name ("fleer" and "reka") apparently stem from medieval Norway and seem to refer to a guy who likes to sneer at people being tortured on a rack. Nice family.

It seems the pattern is when a software company starts attaching their name to hardware the end user eventually gets screwed. Keep that in mind.

Ha ha, really? "Fleer" can sound like either "grin" or "more". I don't know of any words spelled "fleer" and couldn't find it in the dictionary. However, it sounds like something that comes from the word "Flir" (phonetic: Fleer) which means "grin". "Reka" - now that actually means "The Shrimp"... So that's interesting. But medieval Norwegians were quite jacked up on shrooms.  Really cool. I got to research Medieval Norwegians who sneered at people being tortured on a rack. There must be something juicy behind that. Sorry for the derailing

Yeah, they kind of made a completely new product. I once bought it for what it was. When it wasn't that anymore I stoped using it and found replacements. But they were always criticized for no audio recording so I suppose their bigger userbase won the argument. Now it looks like a really nice hipster tool, but I don't need that either.
