Prospective New Fiddle Sample # 2

Here's a waltz that I recorded today with the fiddle that I'm trying out. I got so distracted by the ease in which the fiddle plays double stops that I kept slowing down. LOL.
Oh well, try to disregard the timing thing and concentrate on the tone of the fiddle and let me know what you think of it.

Scotty, that instrument sounds beautiful (not that I'm any authority on such things), but it sounded great to me.

Hi Scott, although  I think your playing is making this fiddle sound so good, it sounds like a very nice instrument. The tone has lots of body and the highs have nothing "scratchy". Is there a technical difference between a fiddle and a classical violin or is it the playing style ? You make this sound effortless. I admire your steadiness of pitch , if thats the technical term, the few times I tried a violin it made me look very stupid, not having frets.

    Greetings, Rik

    Rik,
It's definitely the fiddle making my playing sound good.    You're right, It is actually a violin. As you had guessed, fiddle is only a playing style.

    Tom,
    Thanks! You are sooooo kind!

You are very good at the fiddle.  It is not a easy instrument to play well.  Very nicely recorded.  What mic did you use?

Thanks man! I used my trusty Rode NT-1000. I love that mic!

Sounds damn good to me.  Those harmonies make the hair on my neck stand up (good thing).
