Protest Cake?

MSN had a photo gallery of funny protest signs and I thought this was mildly amusing for reasons unbeknownst to the protester:

On a more serious note, I just started reading "The Power of Habit" and in the preface (or was it the first chapter?) the author sited an Officer in Iraq who was charged with figuring out how to quell riots resulting in violence in a specific town.

The officer noticed that how these began was a few agitated people would gather in the town square. As the crowd slowly grew, street food vendors would show up. Long story short these gatherings would end up in rioting and violence.

So the officer requested from the mayor to ban all food vendors 24/7 from the town square. The first mid-day gathering started a few days later. After an hour or two he noticed that the crowd started looking around for food. Since there was none to be had, sooner or later the crowd started dwindling and by 8PM (the height of previous riots and violence) everyone had dispersed without incident. The ban of food vendors in the town square is still in effect today and they have not had one riot or violence outbreak since then (in that town).

Besides, if I keep my cake at home, I can have it all to myself.
