Psi Cygni [with video]

Hi Peeps,
 
Psi Cygni is another electronic piece from me.
 
This one is eight minutes long and could be classed as "minimal" and, indeed, there are only two VSTi used here.
 
Hive was used to create a very simple one note sequence that drifts in and out through the piece. It is also run through Adaptiverb and helps to create low end for the drone.
 
Reaktor 6 is used to create an almost random seeming sequence. I utilised the "West Coast" blocks (matrix sequencer, oscillator and filter) and they bring some "weirdness" to the proceedings. I used lots of automation to tweak all sorts of stuff, including the X and Y gate offset in the sequencer, which is what makes the sequence a bit more random.
 
Adaptiverb is also fed with Reaktor to add more "character" to the drone.
 
I use two instances of Timeless 2, plus on Breverb 2 and one Pro-R
 
 
Peeps who are familiar with my works know full well, by now, not to expect the usual verse/chorus/bridge stuff.

Woosh, that's amazing audio and video. I have adaptiverb as well and you seem to really get a lot out of it! I have more experimenting to do, but it sure sounds great.
 
Your mix is clear as usual, and those visuals are killer diller!

Very cool synth work/fx on this Andy......it was a treat on my h-phones (yes, all 8 minutes :)). I liked the randomness sounds of Reaktor. Between you and Fleer showcasing it, I've been wanting to get Adaptiverb. Very nice video as well.....a perfect fit for the audio.
I was actually getting inspired to play a distorted (slow moving rhythmic) guitar to this!!

I've heard of it, but never played it. I used to love my computer games but I tend to stick with just the one online shooter nowadays. That said, my lads bought me Doom last year and that was a complete blast, in every sense of the word

It seems to be a nice piece of artwork, but I think it is impossible to picture how my connection is weak and I have to go back hundred times to your video to see it in a row.
Despite thoose little issues I truely appreciate what you offer with this work .

Very nice piece which generates a great atmosphere, you must have great patience to render those fractal videos; I just stick with the images using Apophysis

Hey Andy, this may be your best piece yet IMHO.  It's organic and flowing, ever changing.  I always enjoy your work, but this one was special.  BTW- John is right, there is definitely a market for your music: licensing and music libraries.  I've had some experience with this which I'd be happy to share if you're interested.

Nice build up at the beginning.  That bass element around 3:30 fits in very well. The whole thing has a soothing texture to it.  This is one of the best projects of yours I've listened to.

Those fractal patterns are amazing. Well done!

I'll be really honest, I am so glad that Psi Cygni has had such a good response here. I thought it would be a bit too long for most peeps, even with an accompanying video, and it is a lot more "experimental" than my previous release Clytie. I was expecting this to disappear off the first page with hardly a comment.
