Pugtones revive that ol' rascal "JAZZ THE FUNKY"

We posted this song 4 or 5 years ago.  I would venture to say that most of the people up here now haven't heard it.  When Mark sent the music and asked if I wanted to rap I laughed.  I knew I couldn't "rap" like the real rappers do.  So....I did what we like to call "square dance rap".  This song is way off track from our normal work but it was a lot of fun to do.  Its's good to throw a monkey wrench in the works sometimes.  I hope you enjoy this offbeat tune.

Warren and Mark, Nice little funky song that I remember from several years back. Sounds like you may have done some remixing to it or at least re-mastering. Kind of trippy, jazzy and funky all in one and ends on a single note! Very interesting to say the least. I liked it and the mix is good.

Mix is pretty good, though there are several plosives that got captured during your raps. Sounds like you had some fun with this one!

Nice fun song! The mix is good and clear and has a nice stereo field to it. Loved the bass guitar tone, wish I could get that. If  I had to find something to change it would be maybe bring the kick drum up just a touch, nice sound to it, just seemed a little low in places. It's not that you can't hear it just think it might sit in the mix a little better if it was just a touch louder. Enjoyed it!

Thanks Warren, it's been four or five years since I've heard that one.

The bass was played on a Godin LGX played through a Roland GR-30 synth. The lead guitar on this one was also played on that same Godin going through a Roland VG-88 guitar synth.

Thanks all for taking a listen.

I didn't hear it last time, fyi, it's listed as Genre: "Hiphop?" Perhaps my least favorite Genere...

There were elements I really enjoyed... "Yoooouuuuuuuuuuuu could learn alot about me?" Priceless... I would bring the delayed volume down a touch on the guitar (hey everybody's a producer...)

The more I listened to this? The more I liked it :-)

Well, that to me was some low-down funk.
Good job. Sounded fine to me, may have to listen to it again though to make sure.

Scotty- Thanks!  yeah Mark was midi-guitarin' this one.  pretty cool, huh?

Ed- Thanks.  It was meant to be a bit humorous.  Glad you got it!

    Great stuff.
It started quiet so i needed to turn it down when the rest came in.
    Good chorus.
Somehow the delay snare didn't fit in until the guitar came in?
    Nice bass.
