Purchase Awkward...but I got it...I need install instructions .... please

OK, so I finally decided to pull the trigger and upgrade to X1.  I was excited about getting it this weekend because I have some free time to load it.  I logged onto my Cakewalk account and went through the online purchase process.  After I finished entering all of my data and hit enter the checkout cart showed "empty" with a "0" balance.  So, I went to my products page and saw that the X1 upgrade was listed in the purchase history.  I clicked on the "details" button beside that entry and got a "We are experiencing a server error. Please try again later!" message in red.

OK, I did get an email from Cake with a link to the downloads.  So, after I download the files what's next.  What's the install process?

update the motherboard chipset drivers  and your video drivers

    Disabled Speedstep
Disabled onboard Audio (if not in use)
Disabled onboard Lan (if not in use)
Disabled Core Parking - Disable Core Parking
    Turn Off 3.5 flopy disk
    Turn Off HPET in bios

    Go to Regedit

    - Find this key:-  " 0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583 "

    - Within this key, there is a value called:  " ValueMax "

    - This value represents the % number of cores the system will park - the default 100%  ie:  all Cores are potentially park-able

    - Change the value from 64 to 0 so the " ValueMin "  and  " ValueMax " are both zero

    - You will have to find the key a few times and repeat the process for each time it is found - the number of instances will depend on the number of power profiles in your system  [  in my DAW it was only found twice ]

    - Do a full shutdown and power-off and cold-re-start

The installer will create a "temp" folder that you assign to extract, X1, DimPro, and beatscape to. Once the install is done, one can delete and regain about 6 gig of hard drive space.  Other than that, it's a pretty straight forward install.

That sounds pretty straight forward.  Is the installer part of the "02_SONAR_X1_Producer.part1.exe" file?

amiller I'm not sure but I think you might have completely misunderstood StarTekh's post and ALWAYS helpful advice.

Whenever someone has trouble with an install or technical trouble he lends a helpful hand and BTW his advice in the post above is spot on. You don't have to do the things he suggested but you don't have to jump down his throat for offering some very sound (get it?) advice.

Again, I might have misunderstood your reply but I'm pretty sure he was trying to help you out. Not saying he wasn't smoking anything - just sayin'

And StarTekh I ALWAYS appreciate your help on this forum so please don't hesitate to offer same in the future.

Yeah Star, that was a little other worldly, but I think perhaps he doesn't know your reputation for helping out and maybe thought your post was just jibberish? Can't say, but keep on trukin and again I always appreciate your helpful posts.

And I hope your install goes well amiller. Any more questions and the forum will surely help you out.

    StarTekh,

l have a relatively new PC DAW built and configured by Jim R.  I'm running 8.5.3 with NO issues.  I simply asked for upgrade instructions regarding 8.5.3 -> X1 and you gave me system tweaks.  Your response didn't seem to have anything to do with my initial question.

    I'm sorry if I misunderstood.
