just net downloads. Roland UK rep cakewalk BUT they probably can't offer the same deals. if however it's a boxed product go digital village, ask them to price match IF they do an upgrade equal to what you want , otherwise your getting the price simply because it's not a physical product / exsisting user. but the way things are going on all companies , boxed upgrades will probably become a thing of the past... why ship / store / print / use more materials with boxes. whats the problem with using the net ? it's painless and no pro audio shop I know is open past 6pm at night :) . I do like packaged products BUT would like it minimised.. e.g. a dvd case or something, not a big box of space.

do it via paypal then, that way cakewalk don't have your card details.. as long as your pc has decent security then it's not an issue (e.g. I never do card transactions over wifi). I use a debit card with not a lot in that account with no overdraft.. perhaps you should open an account like that, all banks offer that as a basic savings acount. Just top that up before you buy , or use that in turn to open a paypal account. The only other issue for folk is if they have a decent enough broadband package, if not then that causes issues also.

    My rationale is quite simple:

For all MAJOR releases (X1, 8.5 etc) I'll opt for the boxed version

for all MINOR releases, including upgrades, updates etc I'll opt for the downloaded version.
