Q on EZ Player Pro - Mod Bod?

Have Sonar 8.5
EZ Player works, but  when I press play in Sonar, should EZ Player start as well, if I have midi in EZ player's sequencer?
Working within EZ Player is fine, and the bpm syncs, I just can't recall if it should follow Sonar and play.
If it can, I'm doing something wrong.
I have noticed a couple of times that pressing play on a track in EZ Player, that I get my synth sound from Sonar, although nothing moves.
Odd.
