Q2 - 100% Audio song suddenly speeds up????

This has been a nuisance since buying X1.  Occasionally, a song of 5 to 15 audio tracks (and no MIDI) suddenly speeds up.  Have been able to save the file, close and reopen each time with no permanent harm.  Anyone else having this problem.  What am I doing wrong?

I was just having the same issue and found a thread on the problem and the OP also had Echo hardware like we do. I checked my settings for sample rate and found that the SONAR (all 24 bit) rate was 44.1k but windows was 48k. At first I was unable to change the windows settings until I changed it in the Echo Console, opening a SONAR project that was 44.1k, then setting windows to the same as my Echo settings. So far that seems to have fixed the problem. I see that you are running 24/96 so your problem is probably a variation of this, adjusting all settings to 24/96. Hope this helps.

    Thanks Trevia,
Will experiment with this.  NOt sure how to "change it in the ECHO console".  24/96 has no screen or setting knobs.  Do I "change it" in SONAR?

On my system it is under start/programs/echo digital audio/indigo express card. Hopefully yours is similar. The ASIO panel in SONAR does not have the settings that I mentioned previously.

Making progress.  Found the ECHO console.  I'm not clear on what I change and where.  RIght now my ECHO settings show:

    Sample rate 44.1.
    CORE Audio sample rate 48

    What changes are needed here?

Are you recording at 44.1? This is exactly what mine said before I changed it.

If you are recording at 44.1 change the core audio to 44.1. Open SONAR and verify the 44.1 setting. Go to windows sound, check the default playback device/advanced and set it to match SONAR. I have all of my audio going through my IOX so that is the default device on my computer.

After running SONAR I had to go back and reset my default audio back to the IOX for some reason. I am doing some tutorials and need to set that way to hear them!

Both windows and ECHO NOW show 48.  Under SONAR preferences, default is 44.1.  Do I need any of these?

If you are recording at 44.1 you need to make windows match that. The goal is to make windows match SONAR, not the other way around. The console setting if the starting point. Then SONAR. Then Windows. Verify the result in SONAR and then verify in Windows.

Once they are all the same, try something that triggered the problem, like moving a clip did on mine, and hopefully you will not need to go through this again.
