Quad curve presets > how to insert?

I installed the 2017.5 and checked the E-zine and want to check out the presets for the Quad Curve EQ. The instructions are:
1. Choose the Console view.
2. Load the QuadCurve preset into a ProChannel

But HOW do you load the QuadCurve preset into a ProChannel?

I tried this:
- right-click in an empty space in the ProChannel
- right-click everywhere in the QuadCurve module

I don't see any options to insert a Quad Curve preset. What am I missing or doing wrong?

Just load them the same way you load a regular pro channel preset.
By clicking on the Load icon at the top of the pro channel strip.

Did you get them from command center? They are a separate install from the Sonar update. And like Chuck said you use the Pro Channel presets - you will see them if they are installed. The presets are not addressed from the QuadCurve EQ directly.

Thanks guys, found it!

I never used presets in the Prochannel before but now I see the preset bar with the 'untitled'. The load and save icons appear when you hover over them... I was looking at the expanded view and within the modules

In my opinion, Pro channel presets are the best little feature in Sonar.
Because you can use these templates on pre existing tracks. Where as something like a track template needs to be inserted before the track content, PC presets can be added at any time.

In the same  predicament, I cannot find these presets and when I look  in the pro channel presets none of the new presets  are listed. Where do I install them from as I don't see them either i n command. Are they part of the sonar update?

You have to hover your mouse over the correct spot on the Pro Channel strip for the preset folder icon to appear.

Are they part of the sonar update?

They are a separate install.
First you need to redeem them first by going to your cakewalk product page.
Once you redeem them they will show up in command center / or you can download from your account and install.
That's what I did anyway. maybe you don't have to redeem them anymore, have you looked in Command center ?
They are not in the sonar category, they are directly below it.

I was really surprised that we had to get the email and then "redeem" them through the site after that.  Needlessly complicated and confusing, wonder why they didn't just add it to our accounts, or include them clearly as part of the update as a separate installer (not everyone uses Command Center)

I received no email with a redeem code. I guess a breakdown in the system.

Found it and installed succesfully...

But a second question:  Once a Quadcruve preset has been imported, how do you delete it and get back to the default flat line???

Thanks...

Thanks! I was looking for the clue for resetting the ProChannel preset as well.  Opening the 'Initialized.pcp' works!

Re: Quad curve presets > how to insert? 2017/06/24 18:23:43 (permalink)
Hi,
For anyone who attempted to download the 30th anniversary EQ presets and can't seem to find them (for example, has clicked on the ProChannel "untitled" and "load preset" button and found no presets loaded (no old presets and none of the 30th anniversary presets) here's the instructions I received from Cakewalk Technical Support:
----------------------------------------------
First go to this folder:
C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR Platinum\ProChannel Presets (note, this is not the folder my ProChannel goes to when untitled/load preset is selected--see below)
Are you seeing various .pcp files listed there that start with "30th"? If so, these are the QuadCurve presets you are looking for.
Reply: Yes I see them.

To load them in Sonar:
- Select the track you want to add a preset to.
- Go to: Views | Console View
- In the ProChannel section of the track strip, hover your mouse over the preset window. (It should say "Untitled" by default.)
- Click the folder icon
- This should bring up your ProChannel presets folder, where you can load your QuadCurve presets.
Reply: So how do I get the ProChannel to automatically go to the ProChannel Presets folder (the folder that's set up for ProChannel presets is empty).

OK, great! For the folder issue, it looks like correcting this will involve making some registry changes:

- In the Windows search bar, type "Regedit", and then click on regedit to open it
- Click Yes to the "Do you want to allow this app to make changes..." message
- In the window to the left, navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR\Platinum\UserPaths
- In the window to the right, double-click on "ProChannelStripPresetFolder"
- In the "Value data" section, type C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR Platinum\ProChannel Presets
- Click OK
Reply:  Excellent!! Everything works as advertised.  For any track I can click on the ProChannel "untitled" and "Load Preset" and select any of the presets I've downloaded from Sonar, to include the 30th anniversary presets.

Hope this helps.
Mike

Re: Quad curve presets > how to insert? 2017/06/25 19:42:52 (permalink)
Thanks Mike got it finally
Why it has to be "hidden" under untitled I don't get--it really should be right in your face so to speak.
Were it is ----not easy to find as the very top of this is hidden unless you move the page as far as it will go in console mode.
I also had to go into registry following your clear advice.
Once again many thanks

I don't know what happened to my original post here, but never the less,  I've found them.  The files begin with "30th".........OK.....yea....that's it!  Somewhat foolish, I guess, but it fooled me.  Thanks for the help everyone.
