Quantize key binding in piano roll
Hi, "Q" shortcut doesn't work when I'm in piano roll view. I have to click on process/quantize. Tried to "key bind" it, and its globally binded, no option to bind it for the piano roll. Am I missing something? BTW, is there another method to "key bind"? I mean, it doesn't seem practical to me having to scroll through a very long list of commands trying to find the one that I need... Thanks Pablo

maybe you forgot to select the notes you want to quantize? if you want to quantize the whole track just press ctrl+a before you press q

Alright.. I'm sorry but there really isn't any more to this. Wherever you are in Sonar, 'q' always brings up the quantize window, as long as you have something that can be quantized selected. ...Well actually.. In your first post you say you press 'Q' in piano roll.. the shortcut you want to use is 'q' though. There is a difference between 'Q' and 'q' where the first one gives you the input quantize window and the second one gives you the 'normal' quantize window. About the shortcuts in preferences: There's a search-box just above the list of functions in preferences-keyboard shortcuts. Type 'quantize' there and then just select the area drop down box above that and use the arrow keys to toggle through that list. Wherever there's a function with the word quantize it will show up

What OS and Sonar version do you use? Could be a version-specific bug (if you're using Studio). And, what happens if you click "Zap All" to initialize the settings and try pressing q in PRV again? Before doing this make sure you export the current bindings or you'll lose them all.

By any chance, are the notes you're trying to quantize in a locked clip? If you see either a blue padlock icon (lock clip data only) or a white padlock icon (lock both clip data and position) on the clip, then even if you press q it doesn't bring up the Quantize window.

@Samuel, so its probably only a bug in my installation... I'll try to reinstall @Jlien: The "quantize" function works right, there are no locked clips or notes. Its just the shortcut that is not working. Thank you all Pablo
