Quantzing played parts

Lets say I record a drum part using addictive drums and am playing the parts manually either on my electronic drum kit or the keyboard controller. My take is not so perfect. I have a metronome set. I have snap to grid highlighted. What method will get those just "off the mark"  kicks or snares to jump in place correctly without having to select and nudge or move a piece of clip?

You're on the right track.  Just open the Quantize dialog box and you'll have a list of options to help you quantize those errant note.  You can determine the strength of the quantize and what timing value to use (do you want them quantized to the nearest eighth note, sixteenth etc).  It's easy-peasy.

You haven't lived until you've taken the Rorschach.

You can do it like described above (a quick way of opening the quantize window is to just hit the 'q'-button on your keyboard)

You can also let Sonar quantize what you just recorded automatically by activating the' input quantize' function found on the MIDI tab in the inspector of selected MIDI track.

Edit :
A third way is to insert the quantize MIDI-plugin to the MIDI track's Fx-bin. This will let you tweak how much/hard you want it to quantize and it's not destructive, so you can go back and adjust the settings whenever you want.

Quantizings kills the feel of a performance so using the third option might be a good idea if you later want to go back and loosen it up a bit.

I would not quantise on input, personally, but after the fact, as at least you can undo.

Also, you may need to quantise different parts with different resolutions.

For example, if you have played any triplets then it is worth quantising those separately.

Depending on ones timing, I may use several different resolutions. If the takes starts out only playing crotchets, then goes into quavers, I might do them separately.

Also, play around with the percentage and listen to the whole thing before moving on. If one part doesn't work, undo, and try just those notes at a different resolution or percentage.

I select the notes in PRV, and press Q to bring up the quantise dialogue. I can then see how the notes move as well.

Sorry for ramble, am on my phone...

Yes ditto, don't use input quantization.
With playing from a keyboard you only will have 2 tracks so you can apply quantizing and easily see and hear the results. If it goes wrong , undo and try a different value.  Often using triplets is required.
For my drum kit there will be many notes at once so I highlight each drum part in turn and quantize.
I might use a different note value for different parts.
And often I don't quantize the snare at all. There's too many subtle hits that are ruined by quantizing.
I will manually edit my snare parts.
