LOL Bill.... On a seperate note, uhhmmm....I saw a documentary the other day on what a thriving business pot has brought the state and all the troubles "vendors" are having in dealing only with only cash. The amount of serveillance and care needed to grow these plants was down to a science. Apparently, there's so much of a demand that the suppliers are having a hard time to just keep up with. I think the tax is 30% when buying at a "legitimate store". A "private/non legitimate" seller said he makes 10-20k a month (non taxed and much lower price than the stores). What a country!!

I was there for a week last Sept. Just for my own peace of mind, I visited a legal recreational dispensary. I wanted to see if things were being done securely and safely. I'm happy to report that the experience was satisfactory.

Although Washington is probably a more liberal state, the recreational marijuana laws are a lot more lenient. The laws in Washington were drafted mostly by minority right-wing people who are actually against marijuana but wanted to have their cake and eat it too. Thus, although it is legal here, the business end is a bureaucratic mess. I still find it fascinating that I occasionally get paid to film dispensaries. never in my life did ithink i would get paid to film pot.

I know from experience that they vary, but the last one I filmed was very impressive in the sense that they were so focused on the medical aspect. The entire time I was there everyone that came in was referred by a doctor and had a serious ailment like cancer. Many had never touched marijuana before and "getting high" was the least of their concerns. The staff was very respectful and sensitive to each situation. I shoot for a company based in Colorado that shoots a lot of the dispensaries there. If you need any recommendations, i can send you a link to some videos that give a brief mini-tour

Rocky Mountain High... Colorado. Then again, if you have a younger relative you can probably get the same thing at a good price no matter where you live. I mentioned somewhere else that a while back my dog decided to get some. He got a bit of "loud" (skunk) and a bit of "mids" (sensimellia) unreal... the sens was selling for 50 bucks per 1/2 OZ and the skunk for 170 per 1/2 OZ. If my dog had ANY idea that the "mids" were sens and WAY WAY stronger than anything from back in his puppy days, he would have passed on the Skunk, he is afraid to try the Skunk, he thought he was going to die when he tried a very little bit of the "mids". I cannot believe that they call this stuff mid grade. I would run away from and AA Top Shelf medical herb... just saying. Forget Colorado, just ask your cousin or someone who you know is still in that scene... better yet get your dog to do it! Be careful.. if you do find anything start very slow. This stuff today is NOTHING like you remember. NADA... (So my dog tells me). it may be good for pain but I don't know... I don't remember. I do know it will make you forget that you hurt. I maintain my belief that anything that grows on this planet should be legal to grow, pick, possess, or use. To me that is a "no brainer" and an offense that other people have the audacity to tell other people they cannot possess a plant. I mean think about that... where do they get the moral authority to ... oh never mind.

I think a lot of the hype about modern strains like skunk being "super powerful" are a little overblown. I started smoking the stuff in I guess the late 80's/early 90's, and back then (in the UK) there was a lot more hashish going around than the green stuff. Whilst a lot of it was toxic crap laced with vinyl and henna, if you managed to get your hands on some "pollen" or even some oil (nasty sticky stuff which came sandwiched between two pieces of plastic), it seemed to me to be almost as strong as the new "super" strains of skunk which were starting to come across the North Sea from Holland. There was a clear distinction made between the run of the mill "brick weed" which was drier and generally full of seeds and twigs, and the more fragrant sticky skunk which was covered in crystals and smelled fantastic. Sure, it was definitely more powerful, but not "20 times as strong" or however the media is spinning it now. They talk as if skunk is more like a hard drug that you have to be careful with, but to me it was always just a good quality weed. And if it's a little too strong for you, just put less in the bong. There has been strong weed going around since forever. Remember Durban Poison?

There isn't seed one in the "mids" they are selling, just buds. They have been bricked though. IDK, if I were going to do it.. I'd want something a little weaker.. something a bit more social. Oh well, it don't matter to me.. 'cause I just am not the same person I once was. I wish this stuff had been around back when I actually liked it. It's funny how things you did when you were young always have some sort of appeal but you only remember the "good times" and it isn't the same anymore, at least not in my experience. J

Hi Sharke,
I agree that "20 times stronger" is questionable but some claim new strains up to 27% THC.Typically around 5-8% around here for a long time. I was introduced to commercial "hydro skunk" last year and it was one of the worst experiences of my life-paranoid,anxious,hypertensive...........obviously less is more and some advise the higher the quality the less actual smoke and by products consumed. apparently the ratio of THC to CBN has been genetically altered, increasing THC and reducing CBN which from memory is a natural anti-depressant that smooths out the THC. so-if you have an old strain, hang on to it-in case Monsanto gets their evil GM fingers into pot. cheers

To me it was never much of a social drug. True, we'd partake as a group and pass it around...but I always found it stifled conversation rather than stimulated it. It's probably different for other people. I just remember everyone sitting around in silence, like me probably worrying that the lack of conversation was their fault. Paranoia But for sitting on my own and getting into music, oh la la. When I was 19 I had a job delivering milk for a while. I worked with my dad. We'd start at 2am and finish at about 9am. It was kind of a ritual to smoke a joint together in the truck on the way home. He'd drop me off at my place and I would go inside and put my headphones on, smoke another doobie and have a blissful stoned hour of Zappa before catching a few hours of sleep. That to me was always the best way to get stoned - a reward after a bout of hard work, just me and the music. Anything in the terms and conditions pertaining to talking about illegal substances? LOL! Personally I don't think there's any harm in it. Some people have trouble winding down. Some like a little drink, others prefer a crafty toke now and then. I was always in the latter camp. I cannot stand alcohol, does nothing for me at all. Nowadays I smoke once in a blue moon, maybe 3 or 4 times a year. All I need is a tiny little bit to blow my mind. Back when I smoked regularly, I could smoke a couple of bongs and wouldn't even feel it. Perhaps I'd feel a little less fidgety, lol. Like any other drug you build up a tolerance and then the highs aren't so intense any more.

True, the THC to CBN ratio is now way off but you can buy CBN tincture, capsules, or oil as a supplement if so inclined. They claim that it is legal everywhere and sell it on Amazon. @Share, yeah.. the social aspect never involved a lot of talking. Sometimes a lot of giggling or riding on dirt roads at night making small animal noises... I always enjoyed it alone most. The music! I don't know how or why I changed. I didn't know I did. Maybe it is the herb that changed, IDK. Maybe it has to do with responsibility and having not much, if any when I was young and having a lot now. I really don't know but something changed. I used to do anything, anytime. Alone or with someone.. I think I'd just freak out now but my imagination tells me lies. The more I think I understand myself, the more I find out that I really don't.

You never know. As I stated previously, the people who were supporting legalizing it here were not who you would expect and their reasons were not what the pro marijuana community wanted. In fact the staunchest opponents here were pro legalization groups. All it will take is some political spin machine to figure a way to profit while seeming "tough on crime".
