Question For Nektar Impact LX+ Users

When using the INST mode to adjust synth knobs, they won't record. I am assuming this is not sending CC data? I can use the "grab" command and control the synths, but what's the point if you can't record it?
In order to record automation, I must go to the "PRESET" mode instead, but then you lose the whole functionality of the "INST" mode.
Am I not doing something right?

    I use one in studio.  Have never tried this.  Will try asap and let you know how it works
