Question about MIDI timing

Hey all, I would like to transfer my MIDI data from one project to another via "drag and drop".. however, the timing always seems to be incorrect no matter how accurate I am getting with the time stamp. Is there a better way to do this so everything will sync up properly, and have exactly the same timing as the project I am dragging from? Even using quantize and messing with MIDI offset, it is still a bit off, which is throwing everything out of wack. Thanks in advance!

DO you mean an accurate time at clip start? If so highlight the clip and using the clip tab in the inspector you can enter an exact clip start time. you should also be able to see the original clip time in the same tab as well.

You may also find that snap comes in handy for positioning clips as well but you need to have magnetic strength switched off to get full snap.

Sounds like you're talking about conflicting tempos.  The MIDI tracks you're dragging from project A will not retain their original tempo, because project B, the destination, has already been set up, and its tempo will be the master.

Maybe that's what you're talking about?

Ya what Randy said.  Make sure your new project is the same tempo as the project you pulled it from.

Your audio, under normal circumstances will not follow tempo so things could get out of sync if messing with your midi tempo with audio pre-recorded.

Sorry for the delayed response. The tempo of both projects are the same so there was no issue there. Doing what FastBikerboy said worked perfectly. :) Thanks again!
