Question about effects automation

Hi, forgive the possibly silly question, but I read something that said Sonar only allows you to automate certain effects.  I am considering getting Sonar Professional, but write EDM and use a lot of filter sweeps, etc.  The list of effects you could automate was pretty limited and included things like delay, reverb, etc. and made no mention of filter or eq settings.  If this is the case, Sonar would not be a very good fit for me so I would like to verify before spending the money.  Thank you in advance and again I apologize if it is a silly question.  I am used to DAW's I have used in the past that let you automate anything you can put on a track by adding envelopes and either drawing them in or recording manual manipulations.

Sonar allows you to automate any parameter that is exposed by the VST to Sonar.

...as well as the Pro Channel modules and parameters exposed by DirectX plug-ins. You can automate in multiple ways, including drawing envelopes and recording on-screen knob movement.

Thank you so much for the replies.  I was thinking I had to have wrong information as this did not make sense for a DAW as advanced as Sonar Pro.  It's glad to see I did indeed have bad information.
