Question about markers, please

Hello again, and thanks for reading this. I'm having a little problem with getting my project to stop and return to the beginning or wherever I ask it to return to. Here's what I mean:
I have always used Reason and Sonar together in the past. Whenever I wanted to set a return point in the song, I just dragged the "R" marker in Reason to wherever I want it. That's all it took. Sonar always followed along with this. But, since I upgraded recently to newer versions of both products, ( now using Reason 7 with Sonar x3 ), I can't get the song, or project, to stop at the "R" marker. Anything that I have done in Sonar along these lines, has failed also. In Sonar, I have gone to "Options" and then checked everything there in some configuration or another in order to get the song to return.
Since I have always used the Reason way of getting the project to return, I'm afraid I am not very skilled at trying to get Sonar to make the song return.
I do not expect anyone here to be a Reason user also like I am, but I know that there are some mighty sharp people on this forum who may know this. I hope so anyway.
The reason I don't go to the Reason forum for this is because it seems to have just sort of fallen away over there. Pity.

In case you do know Reason, here is what I have done:

Dragged the "R" marker to wherever I wanted it.
Selected the "Loop" button
Punched in the numbers of the project to correspond the way I wanted them
Done what I already mentioned in Sonar under "Options"

None of these things cause any change to occur at all in regard to stopping or returning the project.

Sure wish I could get this simple matter solved and I hope someone here can help.

Thanks for your time and consideration

In the Track Pane - under Options, there is an option to Rewind to Now on Stop - have you checked that?

    I use Reason 7 also.

    You are doing everything right.
    Problem is your perspective.
In a ReWire setup REASON is the SLAVE.

Any changes to the loop setting/timeline/etc.
MUST be made in Sonar AND ENABLED  if
you expect the changes to happen.

REASON will let you change loop points if loop is ON in Sonar,
    and start and stop(press numberpad 0 twice to return to zero in Reason);
Most other stuff you have to Reference
from Sonar(e.g. hit w on the keyboard to return to zero).

    Hope this helps,
    Mel

Hi there oldtimenewcomer , thanks for your input, it surely is valuable to me. However, the thing I want still eludes me-is it not possible to use the loop, set markers, and save it this way so that it comes up like that when you pull up the project? It surely must be but I am missing it somehow. Since you also use Reason 7 ( which I'm grateful to meet a fellow Reason/ Sonar user ), do you know how to do this? I can't believe how something so simple has been seemingly so difficult. I would appreciate it greatly if you could reply once more here and let me in on how you did this.

I right-clicked along the marker up top to find the Insert Marker, set loop points, select loop region, loop on/off and then the set punch points stuff. Assuming that this was correct, how do I get the project to save with the loop on/return marker set, or "right"?

I noticed that this action turned on the Reason loop button and also set the markers accordingly (with Sonar).

Now, all I need to do is get the darned thing to save it that way.

If you don't mind, please reply to this so I can stop worrying about markers and get back to what I am supposed to be doing.

Thank you very much for your help.
