Question about the Roland D-10/110.

I love the sound and effects of this synth, and wonder if anybody has knowledge as to what effects module is most similar to the effects algorithms used in this ? It's not particular sophisticated stuff by todays standard, but I really like the sound of the delays and reverbs in it ... and wonder if there exists a standalone fx module that comes close to this in sonic character.

You need to just Google your question, you need not wait for an answer.
I came up wih dozens of web sites that have history and detail of all old synths.
Here's just one.

Thanks for the reply Cactus. I've of course been looking around, but it's hard to find an answer to that specific question. I guess I will eventually have to look at the schematics to get a clue. Probably some kind of contemporary roundabout 1988 fx machines will be a good reference point to explore. Just thought I'd ask, you newer know :)

I've seen more than one site call it a "cheap D-50".  That ought to give you a ballpark of how it sounds.

Edit:  Okay, on rereading your post, it looks like you are interested in just the FX processor and not necessarily the sounds.  If that's right, maybe look into the old Roland SE50/70 FX units...

Thank you very much JonD. The Roland/Boss SE50 is probably what I'm looking for. The D-10 has a very limited FX program, 8 reverb programs; of which two are in reality delays. From the limited algorithms of the SE50 box and the year vintage ... I think this might be it. Hopefully some budget algorithms from the D-10 got used in the SE50.

Once again, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It's important to me cause the D-10 was my first synth, got it second hand in pawn shop many years ago ... and have come to know and love the somewhat "limited" fx programs. The idea now is to find out how other gear will sound with the similar fx's :)
