Question about transposing

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if you can have Music Creator create a treble music line from a tune sung into a file?

I see that there is a staff and as the vocal plays the cursor/line scrolls across the staff in the same way as the console, but how do you, if it's possible, get the program to write a line of music for the tune being sung?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Short and sweet answer is "not really."

You can get programs that work within MC to create MIDI data from audio (which is what you're asking). WIDI I've heard is decent enough, and I think expensive ones like Melodyne export MIDI. With what's included in MC, the quick answer is no.

Hi thanks for your response.. no, I am not talking about a midi. What I am wanting to be able to do is hum a tune into the program, then have it write the tune out in musical notation on a regular musical staff.

    Will it do that?

Ginny - what joe is talking about is the only way - and it's not even perfect and definately not cheap. in order to get notes on a page you will HAVE to convert to MIDI, there's no analog equivalent to place on a sheet of paper.

Ok I understand now.. so the staff feature is only for midi related stuff.
    Thanks all,
