Question on mixing mono track from a video recorder

Hi everyone,
 
I have video footage of a show I did and unfortunately I didn't get a good board recording. The mono audio from the camera isn't as terrible as I feared and it's all I have to work with. My intent was to bring it into X1pro and try some presets from Ozone 4 and see if I can get a starting point to bring this to life a bit. I will then merge the audio back with the video for posting on youtube.
 
I was wondering if there are any standard techniques or approaches to dealing with mono live audio like this?
