Question/comment at time of File/Save As
Dear forum people,
When I want to "Save As", in this case a template that I am detailing or upkeeping, right after File/Save, Sonar correctly suggests to "Save as Type: Template".
However, as the contents of the directory where it saves if I accept, it only shows the ONE template that I am working on, and other files in that folder that are NOT of the cwt type. Sonar also correctly has filled in the current template's filename, so all I had to do is Save if that's what I want.
But if that's what I wanted, I would have used "Save" where no questions are asked.
This is odd. And that's because in THAT same folder I do have other templates of the same cwt file type, yet they DO NOT appear.
This threw me off many times and confused me, thinking that somehow I was about to save on the wrong folder, since I KNEW that I did have other such templates there.
However, if I go with the mouse to the Save-As space, and there select any other of the available save-as types, then the directory listing of course changes to something that I am not interested in at the time (since I am working with .cwt files).
And so, I then select with mouse "Save as Type Template" and then YES! Sonar THEN shows me all of the .cwt files that I knew I had there and are there!
This seems to me odd (and even wrong) for since from the FIRST time I choose save-as, I believe it should show me ALL of the .cwt files in that folder.
So this is both a comment as above, and a QUESTION: whether this is perhaps only in my version of Sonar LE (4.0.1), and maybe other Sonar more advanced models, or if there were by chance a reason why this rare behavior is so on purpose.
All other softwares as I recall, show ALL the files in the folder, of the type that one is about to save, upon selecting "Save as". As said, this threw me off quite a bit when I started working with templates, as I had never used them till only a few days ago, rather asiduously.
Thanks for any replies.
