Questions About The Superbowl...
- I'm guessing "Superbowl" is a portmanteau of the word "super" and the word "bowl". So, who is actually doing the bowling?
- And just how 'super' are they?
- And for that matter, which bunch of armour-plated pansies is batting?
- Is Bruno Mars really from Mars?
- Where are the Bronco's horses?
- What exactly is Manning painting?
- Do all the participants really need a (conveniently advertisement-length) rest every 9 seconds?
- Is the phrase "first down and inches" rude?
- Is it still Superbowl tradition for at least one member of the Jackson family to expose one of their breasts at half time?
- Are the words "red" and "hot" superfluous - shouldn't they just be called the "Chili Peppers"?
- Are the bluest skies you've ever seen really in Seattle?
- Do all the players ride motorcycles to the game, but forget to take off their helmets?
- I notice that there as many umpires/referees/officials as players - are American Football players incapable of following the simple rules?
- Why are they all eating delicious apple turnovers?
- Is William Perry still a fridge, or is he now some other type of kitchen appliance?

Oooh, ooh, I know the answer to #11! Yes. However, it is an optical illusion caused by contrast with the other 358 days of the year that are overcast. It's like when you take yellow-tinted sunglasses off and everything looks strange. In a probably-unrelated statistic, more sunglasses are sold per capita in Seattle than anywhere else. My theory is that on the rare occasions when we need them we've forgotten where we put them. But during the brief period between leaving the house and rushing to the nearest store to buy sunglasses, nearly everyone points upward and exclaims "look! holy sh*t, the sky is BLUE!".
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

SteveStrummerUK 4. Are the words "red" and "hot" superfluous - shouldn't they just be called the "Chili Peppers"?
The two words are superfluous. They're probably a marketing gimmick. I believe most fans do call them the Chili Peppers which is also redundant because a chili is a pepper. So, I guess they should just be called the Peppers. I'm not altogether sure if they even own shirts.

Oh! You learn new things every day!! That #1 cleared the mist... I've always thougt it's Superb Owl referring to way the QB spins his head 300 degrees looking around. That much I do know, that #7 (rest every 9 seconds) is just to balance the effective playing time to the same level as in soccer, where guys spend the respective time lying on the grass doing variations of The Dying Swan. I still think it should be called Pit Ball, because it's in the armpit that they carry the ball. Lappy Ball would sound a bit sissy.

Supplementary questions: - Why is it called a 'touchdown', when they don't have to touch the ball down?
- The participants seem to wear an awful lot of unnecessary protection compared to real contact sports. Has it ever been discovered that one of the players was actually a robot?

Extra supplementary question: - Why isn't the Superbowl called "The World Series of American Football" seeing as, like baseball, it actually excludes participation by 95½% of the population of the Earth?

You are. You get to watch the best TV game ever created. No detail goes by missed, and the goal line idiocy by old kranks that live in the past is not an issue! SteveStrummerUK And just how 'super' are they?
Pretty good. They are the best of what is left. I do think that best two teams got there. SteveStrummerUK And for that matter, which bunch of armour-plated pansies is batting?
You are. But on a couch with potato chips, wieners, and Am, if you are bored! SteveStrummerUK Is Bruno Mars really from Mars?
Like you and I really give a merde! SteveStrummerUK Where are the Bronco's horses?
You didn't see those beautiful Chippendales? SteveStrummerUK What exactly is Manning painting?
Your wallet! SteveStrummerUK Do all the participants really need a (conveniently advertisement-length) rest every 9 seconds?
While that's not something that happens in every sport, it is one of the things that makes this sport so good. Look at the sidelines and the coaches looking at snap shots of plays and trying to find ways to stop it, or from getting around it. AVB could have used that to his advantage, but he was stubborn and stupid! SteveStrummerUK Is the phrase "first down and inches" rude?
To the inferior Brits it might be! .... hehehehe! SteveStrummerUK Is it still Superbowl tradition for at least one member of the Jackson family to expose one of their breasts at half time?
Oh, c'mon, Playboy and some of your English magazines have far better looking and less screwed up people on them! Nothing against the girl and her body and shape, but she is far worse representative of what was wrong in that family than Michael ever was! SteveStrummerUK Are the words "red" and "hot" superfluous - shouldn't they just be called the "Chili Peppers"?
RED HOT, to you ... but damn it, it was not an Alehmbic that Flea was playing to Bapu's disappointment. SteveStrummerUK Are the bluest skies you've ever seen really in Seattle?
YES. And the air is mostly very clean, and easier to smell and sniff, than London's! SteveStrummerUK Do all the players ride motorcycles to the game, but forget to take off their helmets?
Sometimes. In America, it is now a status symbol! SteveStrummerUK I notice that there as many umpires/referees/officials as players - are American Football players incapable of following the simple rules?
Sometimes. But generally there are too many details that could be considered cheating that are had to see and catch. One of the referees does the line, the other the ball, the other this and that, for example. They all have different jobs! SteveStrummerUK Why are they all eating delicious apple turnovers? Is William Perry still a fridge, or is he now some other type of kitchen appliance?
Both of these questions will remain un-answered because the answers could be toxic and unsavory!
As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

SteveStrummerUK 7. Do all the participants really need a (conveniently advertisement-length) rest every 9 seconds? Sometimes they do. But in last night's game, it was to provide us with some entertaining commercials to offset the boring game.
