Quick Grouping audio track inputs within folder = CRASH

I just submitted this as a bug report, as it was 100% reproducible on my system, but I'm curious as to whether the results are the same for everyone else.  So if you have a spare minute and want to try crashing your system...

1) Insert a few audio tracks.
2) Put them into a new folder.
3) Select them all.
4) Ctrl (hold) + click the input dropdown and choose an input.
5) Fatal error (This step should read: All selected tracks in folder assigned input selected in Step 4).

My system:
Sonar X1B x64 w/ latest hotfixes
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67 GHz
8 GB RAM

Just tried it and it did indeed instantly crash as you say.

Yep - I can reproduce that one too...

Never stumble up on this, because I always use different inputs on different sound tracks (or assign them one by one if recording track-after-track).

One question tough.. What is the reason you want to assign one input to multiple tracks? I should think it is far more easy to just actually record one track and do a multiple-copy. With the last method you end up with the same amount of identical audio tracks without crashing.

^So I don't have to assign them one by one if recording track after track, as you said...haha.

In the main project template I use, I have a folder set up for tracking vocals.  Why would I want to click and assign inputs individually on every double and harmony track?  Or if I have a bunch of voice actors coming to record, do I really want to click and set up every track individually when they're using the same inputs over the course of the session?  That's completely counter-intuitive to good work flow.  As far as creating a track and just cloning it a bunch of times, I could do that, but if I decide to reassign the inputs of a group of tracks at some point, I've hit a dead end in terms of speed.

Long story short, it's a simple, useful feature that should operate easily and flawlessly, so I hope Cakewalk fixes the bug ASAP.

Well - not trying to be a smart-ass or something, but...

    1) Create a range of audio tracks.
    2) Select the first created track number, then hold shift and select the last.
    3) Ctrl (hold) + click the input dropdown and choose an input.
    4) Right-click one of the selected audio track numbers and choose "move to folder"->"New Track Folder"

No crash... and just as easy as your first way of creating.

I do not say this bug does not have to be solved, but at least you can create your audio tracks in folders just as fast as your first description.

I just tried it in a new project (not from a template), and it didn't crash. Lucky me!

i do this all the time  never had a crash. I don't use the 'Ctrl+Hold' though, just clicking next to the folder/ header will select all tracks within it, then right click select, 'Select Mult.' drop down appears, again without the ' Ctrl+Hold'.
