Quick Question For Axiom Users

The Axiom only has 8 pads and I was wondering if they were bankable? Meaning if I'm using a instrument like Geist or BeatScape ect is there a button I can hit to access pads 9-16.

Sadly they are not bankable but what you might be able to do is create a patch where you have what you want in pads 1-8 defined a certain way then you switch to the new patch (say patch 2) and you have different definitions for the pads. I have an Axiom 61 and I believe it is the same for the 49. You have up to 20 user defineable presets. If you toggle the Group P button off it will not store the pad values when you store a new patch so you should be careful about that. You want to make sure it is enabled so that the modified pad value changes are stored as part of the patch.
 
This is just some thoughts on my part since I have not tried this trick at home. Unlike an MPC, you can't directly select a pad bank so you have to toggle quickly I suppose using the up and down patch select arrows. Hopefully this can work for you. I use an MPC 5000 for pad stuff so I have not had to try this.

for the most part inaheartbeat was right, which is what i was in the process of doing. you have to make a new program and save it to one of the 20 available slots. so i have pads 1-8 saved to p01 and pads 9-16 saved to p02, the just use the + or - keys to switch between the 2. now i have to get some "Just for Men" to cover up all of the gray ive grown trying to figure it out lol. #finally
