Quick latency toggle?

It would be great if there were a way to quickly toggle between a low latency setting (ideal for recording) and a higher latency setting (ideal for mixing and arranging, which for me get crackly with low latency).

Right now to change the latency we need to:

1) hit "p" for preferences
2) click on "Driver Settings"
3) move the latency slider
4) click "OK"

It would be nice if we could just click a button or use a single keypress to toggle between low and high latency (which we'd need to define, of course). Or at least to increase or decrease the latency. Just something to save time, so that we don't have to fiddle with preferences when switching between recording and mixing tasks.

My current song has 16 MIDI tracks, handled by 7 instances of Kontact. I know that's not much, and I have a fast PC, but for whatever reason, I get crackle/stutter sounds whenever I save, unless I increase the latency. I'd rather not increase the latency during recording, but I wouldn't mind doing it during mixing, as long as it's convenient. Right now it's a bit of a pain to adjust latency, as I often go back and forth between recording and mixing.

This has been asked for many times!  I'll go one further and say it wouls be cool if you could adjust latency via screen sets!  Yummy!

That is a great idea. You should PM Seth with it... I think.
