Quircky new bug

Just installed hotfix 255 and now when I start X1 my Fireface gets kicked out. Go into preferences and change WDM to Asio and all works fine. Change back to WDM and all works fine again with both interfaces. Restart X1 and Fireface is kicked out again. This is repeatable. Deleted aud.ini file with no effect.

A bit more info would be helpful. What fireface are you using? What OS, is it x32 or x64, is your X1 installation x32 or x64, do you have the newest drivers installed for your interface?

    System: HP Pavilion 450t. Windows 10 Home x64, Intel i7 870: 2.93 Ghz, 8G RAM - NVIDIA GeForce GT 610
    DAW: Sonar Platinum
    Audio Interface: Akai EIE Pro
    Midi Controller: Presonus FaderPort
    Midi Keyboard: M-Audio Axiom 49

Fireface 800, Windows 7 64 bit, x1b producer 64, all drivers updated. BTW using the Tascam FW1884 as a second interface/midi input controller. Worked fine before the "fix".  I start X1 and the FF drivers fail. Tascam midi is there, but no control. Go into preferences and change to ASIO. Fireface now works and Tascam is greyed out. Tascam still doesn't function even as a controller. Go back into preferences and reset to WDM and all is well. Kinda silly, but it works.

You really should file a bug report about this.

Here's a link to the Problem Reporter

Someone over at RME said to try changing buffer size either in Sonar or the RME. I'll try that first.

Nope. That didn't work. Still gotta go back and forth. Weird.

I've reported a similar issue with 255... I can't use it here unless I switch to ASIO which is a problem... It will not run my wdm/ks driver at all.

I'm using an SSL/Soundscape Mixtreme 192... and I'm still using build 246 while hoping this issue is addressed for the X1c release. I reported it and it was confirmed by some others so it's not only with my card, it's something changed in the way Sonar is trying to use the drivers in build 255....

If it isn't fixed in X1c? It's all over for me... (probably)

Hmm. It's a workaround, but annoying.
