Ha ha - whatever mate! No handbags here - as I recall it was me who was trying to explain to you in the first place that there was no "drama" intended by anyone here, just humour ? So much for trying to help avoid confrontation ;) Anyway, go and have a beer or something and cheer up a bit ! paulo Rodar6 ......and yes, I agree with you that it isn't up to anyone else to decide how people should respond. Yet you are complaining about the way people respond, because they don't respond in the way that you wanted them to? paulo Rodar6 Paulo, Think you completely missed what that was replying to. ...and no. People who regularly hang out in the coffee house don't run the rules about how everything should be replied to. Erm, no...because I can read. I just happen to think that you have your panties in a tangle about nothing much. ......and yes, I agree with you that it isn't up to anyone else to decide how people should respond. Yet you are complaining about the way people respond, because they don't respond in the way that you wanted them to? Maybe you should look up the meaning of 'Thread' Sorry Paulo but I really cant be bothered to get into a handbags at 10 paces squabble. I dont agree with you so we'll just have to agree to disagree. Youre a big man going on about getting panties in a tangle considering I haven't actually used abusive language in stating my opinion. Exiting the drama now. Regards Rodders Ha ha - whatever mate! No handbags here - as I recall it was me who was trying to explain to you in the first place that there was no "drama" intended by anyone here, just humour ? So much for trying to help avoid confrontation ;) Anyway, go and have a beer or something and cheer up a bit ! Thanks for the priceless advice, but I don't actually need it explaining. Why are you taking it upon yourself to speak up for someone who is capable of speaking up for themselves. Guess that type of humour is lost on me. In joke perhaps. Why are you inferring that I'm sad by saying go away and cheer up a bit. Err! I defended myself which doesn't mean I'm sad or that I need cheering up. Anyway, thanks for taking the thread away from the theme again. Maybe you should start a thread of your own so people know how to respond when people just add a load of rubbish to a thread. This place is just too much hard work. Unless you can actually make a contribution to the theme of the thread then why are you posting in here?

Rodar6 Thanks for making my experience on the forum a sh*t one. I must say this in the CH far more often. Where's Mooch when I need him?

What scares me the most about this thread is, someones actually going to know every chord with a A note in it.

Alright Cakewalkers! My voice gravitates around an A note most of the time , so I thought how can I accommodate that with different flavours of suitable chords. I approached it in a logical-ish fashion starting with A as the root note, then A as the minor second, major second and so on. I marked the more realistic choices/combinations in bold. Here's a quick list of the results. A as Perfect 1st = Any A chord A as minor 2nd = No chords A as Major 2nd = Gadd9 A as minor 3rd = F#m A as Major 3rd = F, Fmaj7 A as Perfect 4th = Esus4, E7sus4 A as Tritone = Ebdim7 A as Perfect 5th = Lots of D chords A as minor 6th = Dbaug A as Major 6th = Cdim7, C6 A as minor 7th = B7, Baug7, Bm11 A as Major 7th = Bbmaj7 (great mellow combination when played as a barre on the 6th fret) I think that there are around about 150 chords in all, but they fit nicely into the above interval categories so as not to become too overwhelmed with too much theory. Who said singing monotone would be boring : ) Cheers Edited addition Disclaimer I was looking at different ways to start a chord progression. I'm not suggesting that anyone should only use the above chords in a piece where a melody line would start with an A note. Phew!

my winners were #3 humbly yours's " every chord has a note in it" #2 Roddy's "handbags at ten paces" then, since theres gotsa be a winner.. #1 Craigs " What scares me the most about this thread is, someones actually going to know every chord with a A note in it.? Then of course i just realised Roddy actually had a mostly serious thought behind the post to find different chordal variation for his music.... far better wording and an interesting topic.. me?.. i would have asked "if i couldnt be hacked to play anything other than A on the bass how many cool chords can i use?.. lol :) .. (insert bass guitar lesson joke #23 here)

Rodar6 Paulo, Think you completely missed what that was replying to. It was in reply to - " Not sure what you were expecting. Does it have to be an "A" or can it be a G##? Or a Bbb? What about A# or Ab? There's 19,320 chords just in the Ionian (Major) scale alone. Many use an "A" note. What are you looking for? " Musicman100, You actually got that quote in the wrong order. That was in reply to a different user and was posted before the quote you are referring to. ...so your contribution is totally inaccurate. Yes people can be friendly and people can be a pain in the so and so. Some people like to take a thread off on all different tangents whereas others like a thread to be a half sensible thread. You've gotta at least get some rapport with the person who is posting the thread before you go off on a tangent. When you do go off on a tangent it looks like you're trying to sabotage a thread without at least showing a little bit of respect. Think we've been on the cakewalk forums long enough (over 4 years) to know that some people just wanna be a pain right from the onset. ...and no. People who regularly hang out in the coffee house don't run the rules about how everything should be replied to. Just saw this... Holy crap! You got bent about something I posted??? You must be new here... I never tweak anyone. The Coffee House is a silly place. Sure, we'll have a serious thread occasionally, but derailment isn't the exception - it's pretty much expected! Serious replies stay upstairs. Plus, when you happen to start a thread about something that is a LONG time joke ( Am) then everyone's going to go the way they did. All of that said, here's my quote: Not sure what you were expecting. Does it have to be an "A" or can it be a G##? Or a Bbb? What about A# or Ab? There's 19,320 chords just in the Ionian (Major) scale alone. Many use an "A" note. What are you looking for? There's NOTHING in there except serious questions. Maybe you thought I threw out 19,320 chords as a flippant remark? Well, it's not. There ARE 19,320 chords in the Ionian (Major) scale and, without checking, I'm going to guess at least 1/12th of them feature an A note (however it's called and, yes, in some keys it will be called something other than just "A"). I really didn't know what you were asking for.
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

No worries! Difficult to interpret things properly through text alone. In hindsight it was funny, but at the time I thought people were just dismissing the thread from the onset.
