REM Pci express card question

Hey guys I wanna buy one of the PCIe cards from RME. Just wondering if I can plug a guitar on Mic into the unit? Or do I need something else for that? Would I be better of buying the fireface 800 for my Mac pro?

The first question is answered here at RME Audio

If the fireface 800 was cheaper then you would be better off.

Seriously, only you can tell what you need from an audio interface. FWIW my current opinion is that it's probably better to have something that's attached to a Firewire or USB port, because that will more lilkely give you better flexibility for dealing with the external connections (mikes, mixers, guitars etc).
