RESOLVED - Thanks Scott - Recording Session Drmmer 3

OK, so I'm probably being pretty stupid and sill here.  I have no difficulty in recording a Session Drummer 3 track ( Simple Audio ) when triggering from a controller, but when I go to record a loop pattern (from Session Drummer), nothing is recorded. I can play and trigger the patterns (A thru H) but nothing is recorded in the track..just dead air.

 What am I missing

 Thanks and Regards,

 Bill -

Typically a midi track is created first that contains the patterns from which the audio is rendered.

You need to trigger the patterns from your controller. The following notes trigger the loaded patterns...
    Pattern pad
    MIDI note numbers
    All off
    24 (C2)
    A
    27 (D#2)
    B
    28 (E2)
    C
    29 (F2)
    D
    30 (F#2)
    E
    31 (G2)
    F
    32 (G#)
    G
    33 (A2)
    H
    34 (A#2)

Now my turn for ingnorance - so using a controller will allow you to record a live audio track using Session Drummer 3?
    Any particular set up needed?

No, what I was talking about will allow you to trigger the MIDI patterns loaded into SD3. You're recording a MIDI track, which then triggers the loaded patterns. Not audio.

However, you _can_ record a live audio track for any synth by using SONAR's Live Input feature. What you'll be doing is bouncing a track in real-time. So select the synth track and choose Tracks > Bounce To Tracks from the Track view menu. In the dialog box, remove the check mark next to Fast Bounce and then put a check mark next to Live Input. Start the bounce and SONAR will record the audio of your synth performance in real-time to a new audio track.
