RIP Bob Welch

One of the original members of Fleetwood Mac, great guitarist and vocalist. Looks like he took his own life, very sad.

What on earth is going on in the music business lately? Seems like a house call from the big guy has come in...

    Wiki said his wife found him. Shot himself. The last line of wiki states he had an undisclosed health problem.

    Hopefully not depression. It's a dark place that can be hard to get out of with our help.

    At any rate.... Sentimental Woman is the first song that I recognized what quailty hi fi sound was through my dads stereo as opposed to what it indeed like through my toy stereo.

    RIP Bob

    Since when did taking the easy way out become the preferred method for people to deal with their issues???  Brad Delp, Kurt Cobain, Michael Hutchence, Ronnie Montrose, Bob Welch, Jay-Z...  Oh wait, that last one was just wishful thinking, ignore that one...

    There's actually a much longer list, but, come on!

    Sports figures like Junior Seau are doing it now too.

    I've come to the conclusion that the new age share your feelings and lets talk about what you are feeling is a big bunch of bollocks. And half the diseases they have invented since th50's don't actually exist.

    Much healthier to bottle it up and save it for a rainy day. Like Hemingway.

    I think that suicide brought on by depression is one of the most agonising of human conditions and behaviours. For the sufferer and his / her family and loved ones. My heart cries out every time I hear about one. It happened to the lad I grew up alongside as my next door neighbour in Liverpool. A lovely, clever guy, who, whilst I took off and travelled the world, started a family and moved to other places, just stayed at home, with the engine of his mind racing, whilst never putting his life in gear and getting any traction at anything. I still think of him regularly, and wished I could have been there to help him harming himself on his last lonely, night back in 1992 when at the age of 32, he took his life.

    I get frustrated when people show no sympathy to mental illness, but seemingly have all the empathy in the world for those with a 'tangible' illness.

    RIP Bob Welch

    oooohhhhhh no. Come on...

    "all of the things that I said that I wanted,
    come rushin' by in my head when I'm with you;
    fourteen joys and a will to be merry,
    all of the things that they say are very.. sentimental gentle wind,
    blowin' through my like again;
    sentimental lady ,
    gentle one....

    I'll miss Bob. I spent many hours with Mystery To Me and Heroes Are Hard To Find... Penguin too but not so much. I had everything they put out up to TUSK which didn't interest me. I was a huge Bob Welch era FM fan.

    RIP...

    Hi,

    RIP Bob ...

    NP: Dreams -- From Fleetwood Mac's Penguin album. After that I'm looking for Bob's first solo album after FM that had some nice things in it.

    As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

    Is that the Welch from Marvin, Welch & Farrar?

    Edit: no, that was Bruce Welch, sorry.
