I am very sorry to hear this sharke.
I met Doug Sax when he mastered Sue Saad & The Next at The Mastering Lab in L.A.
http://www.discogs.com/Sue-Saad-And-The-Next-Sue-Saad-And-The-Next/release/1264638 He was very patient with me and showed me his techniques which included two sets of EQ and limiting before we burned the mother nickle plate. A few masters were then made from the mother plate and they were used to mass produce the LP's.
He was a great guy and had a profound impact on LP mastering back in the day.
