RIP Jan Eiken (Old55)
Forum friends, We have lost one of our own. This past February Jan Eiken passed from his final battle with cancer. Jan had been in and out of the hospital since December. He was my friend on the forum and in real life. We walked the floor of NAMM twice. With Daryl and I he wrote songs with great wit, insight and most of all humor. He made me laugh. I for one will miss him dearly. The Coffee House will never be the same without him. There will be an East & West Cost Memorial Service for Jan. East Coast: Saturday Match 14th 2:00PM St. Stephens Lutheran Church 120 Pleasant Ave. Edison, NJ 08827 Wet Coast: Sunday March 29th 1:00PM Orange County Spiritual Renewal 17272 Newhope Street Fountain Valley, CA 92708 To my dearly departed friend I say, Black Dog Jan, Black Dog.

I had the distinct pleasure of sharing a meal with Jan in Newport Beach, California a couple of years ago. He was a gentleman of the highest order and I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation about music and life. A great sense of humor that will be missed around here.

A very, very sad loss indeed. I always looked forward to chatting with him here (6 am his time, before leaving for work) in the CH and we engaged in a little buffonery......he always made me smile. A true gentleman!!

I am so saddened by this news. Jan will be missed. I am glad he is no longer suffering from the evil that plagued him.
Jan and I tried several times to meet up for dinner when my wife and I were on vacation in San Diego, but he was not feeling good any of the times we were available and we didn't make it.
