R.I.P. Jim Marshall

I was just looking at the thread on amps that sound like Marshall Amps when I heard the news that Jim Marshall has passed away.   Sad news indeed.

http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2012/04/05/jim-marshall-founder-of-marshall-amps-dies/

http://www.marshallamps.com/ The Marshall site is extremely overloaded right now it seems.

    Sad news for guitarists everywhere.

But lets be honest, Jim had the resources, but it was Ken Bran that built the amps.

you celebrate the inspiration for the sound of rock and roll.

not the person who breathes the solder iron fumes.

    RIP JM

Like I said on another forum:

    The Righteous Brothers once sang:

"If there's a rock and roll heaven, well you know they've got a hell of a band"

Now with Jim joining Leo and Les Paul, they got a hell of group of guys providing them their tools.

RIP Jim, well wishes to his family in this time of loss.

"It was Ken who said to me that it was rather silly to keep on buying in amplifiers when we could probably produce our own."
From The History of Marshall by Michael Doyle.

Dick Denny; the father of the Vox sound.

    Likewise Ken for Marshall.

    Just sayin'...
