ROAD RAGE

Unfortunately I have had computer problems.  Most everything has been fixed except I have to re-install some programs and to replace a sound card.  I ended up getting the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 audio interface and now I am trying to get Sonar and the Scarlett to communicate.  For those that commented on my last song posted, this is my long way of telling you that I have not been able to access my files for that song yet for these reasons.  Hopefully, I will get a solution and break the impasse between Scarlet and Sonar.

Here is a song that I had finished just before the computer mess.  It is just for fun.  It is based on my traffic hour observations, one driver's road rage that I experienced, and an unfortunate highway homicide that happened here in the beautiful Tampa Bay Area.  When you listen (if you listen) you will find that this number is a bit rough on the vocals and mix and it is a silly song with a bit of sarcasm, but as I have said before I like to have a bit of fun with my music.  In this instance I was going for a trifecta -- raw, rough, and silly.

Comments and suggestions will be appreciated (as always) but mostly I hope that it gives you a bit of a giggle.
Thanks!

I like the vibe. Good voice and vocal. Maybe I could wish for a little more "meat" in the drums

Freddy, Found this to be fun and exciting. Very interesting lyrics, yes, very interesting. Nice sound all the way around and the beat seemed just right for this type of song. Nicely done my friend!!

Freddy, this is what I call a wake-up call to all the idiots out there that turn into demons when they get behind the wheel of a car.  Your songs have a way of being PSA's (public service announcements), that tell the story with clarity and humor.  Don't let them push you around!

    All the best,
    Lynn

Hi Roger.  I think that your right.  I have finally gotten Sonar and the Scarlett 2i4 to recognize each other.  As soon as I get the idiosyncrasies worked out, I'll beef-up the drums a bit.  Thanks for listening and for the suggestion.

Hey John.  Thank you my friend - you are most kind.  It is easier to get a song done when you are having fun with it.

Thanks Lynn.  I appreciate your kind comments.  Actually, I don't carry a "45" or any other kind of armament but I keep my eyes straight ahead and I no longer use my horn (lol).  Thanks again.

nice song, kind of a psycho vibe that fits the subject. Send this song to Dale Watson!

anytime once can use the James Bond chord progression, one should, in my opinion. Instant classic!

Love the sound your getting out of the guitars. They sound great! I would like a little more drums, but mine are probably too loud most of the time so what do I know. Hahaha!

I love this one! I heard just a few things that were likely artistic decisions you made because you liked the way it sounded to you...do you like that reverb? To me it seems like it doesn't fit as well as it could...these things are usually always opinions so please take as such...I might try to dial the verb in to something else but that's me.

The mix seemed just a little bunched in places making the tune seem not as open as it could sound. I might look at conflicting frequencies and try to open it up. Love the tune!

Hi Tom.  Ya, this song is a bit psycho but sometimes driving in the heavy traffic on our Interstates can do that to you.  One just has to keep your cool.  I "sho 'nuff" don't use my horn any more. ;>)   Thanks for listening and for responding.

Thank you Clint.  Yours was not the only comment about the drums.  Good call!  I did beef them up a bit so I hope it sounds better.  I appreciate your listening and commenting.

Thanks Tim -- I'm glad that you liked this one!  I'll take a look at what you suggest.  Please remember, however, that you know what you are talking about and I have no clue about what I'm doing.  That's why I appreciate receiving comments.  I may not know how to address the comments straight away but it motivates me to look things up and learn.  Thanks again for listening and for your comments.  BTW were you taking about the verb on the vocals or overall?

Sounds OK here like the others a tad more depth on the drums may be cool, but that is your call.  Thanks for sharing.

Hi John.  I did increase the drums a bit.  Hopefully, this helps. I appreciate the suggestions.  Thanks.

Hey BAPU.   It's not fun driving in that mess but it sure is fun writing songs about it.  ;>)
