ROLAND GROOVESYNTH

I finally gave up.
I have searched every source I can think of (INTERNET,SONAR HELP,DVD,ROLAND SITE,ALL MY HD'S ETC)but cannot find any documentation for the ROLAND GROOVESYNTH included with SONAR 5 PE.
Sorry to be dense but I cannot figure out how to access the sounds ,midi channel selection etc.

I just e-mailed Roland but wont get an answer until next week sometime .
I'm going to post this on several of the forums .
Anybody ????
Thanks
Tom

The Groovesynth is monotimbral so there's no midi channel selection. To change the sound just right-click on the green display (where the patch name is) and select a sound from the list.

I think you got the answer for this one on the P5 channel. Try not to double post.

But all the synths usually have the F1 trick, as well as having the help in their folders (use explorer).

Isn't GrooveSynth primarily included because it's needed for the Sonar Metronome functionality?

Nope. The audio metronome's been there since version 3 or 4, while the Groovesynth was included with v5.

You're right. I just double-checked. The GroovePlayer is what shows up in my Plug-in Manager. (It's probably not even a Roland product...)

    Now I know.

    Thanks!

What host are you using? Sonar, Kinetic, P5?

Groove synth is, if not groovy, still useful. Others don't think so. It is mono timbrel. You can insert more instances by track. The drums are pretty good, unless you are into rolling your own, and it does some other psuedo acoustic stuff pretty good. And the Roland drum/rhythm stuff (bit surprize there). Maybe the roland stuff won't fool a conisuir, but I don't have the money for the fill-in-the-blank.

And it is one of the easiest synths to work. If you are having problems I'd go to Cake tech if it is not playing at all. You might also try C>Programs>Cake>Shared DXI>roland>help and see if there are not help files there. If not, you need to re-install your P5 synths. Insert the disk and do a custom install. I had to do the same thing for synchron 32 (midi fx) and dyad.
