RTF and ZPZ?

Hi,

Well, I got the day off and am plunking some moolah to go see Return to Forever (Lenny, Stan, Jean Luc, Chick for sure it looks like), and the opening act? ... Zappa Plays Zappa ... in Eugene, Oregon ...

Woot ... can't wait! Another month to go, though!

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

I think you'll find Adam in charge of recycling at the Oregon Country Fair. Just a guess mind.

Spacey be careful there as Frank Gambale is a personal friend of mine! The band had a preference to tour with Frank this time.  Frank is awesome and tears it up for breakfast and I am sure would not only interpret Al's playing pretty well but add his own immense style. I think Chick Corea was looking for some fresh interpretations of this music this time around as well.  Frank was already listening to and could play the music by the time he was a teenager.

This is one serious concert and probably the best band I have ever heard live. That tour started here in Australia and I am surprised it is still going. I thought it would have finished by now. They must have had a break in between.

They are going to record a CD at the end of the tour. (What a great time to do it!) It is not a big guitar featured thing anyway, it is more about the music as a whole. There is some incredible guitar plaing in it though. All of them were amazing, Stanley, Lenny etc. Chick Corea played so well. They do Spain too which is very nice. It is good hearing a Chick Corea band playing that tune.

The acoustic part of the concert is breath taking. Wail till you hear them all on acoustic instruments you won't believe it. Jean Luc Ponty stole the show for me, he is unbelievable! They all have mutual respect and love each other and it certainly comes out in the music.
