Been a while since I posted here!  Sounds like there's still plenty of great talent on these boards.  Thanks for taking a listen to this one for me.  All feedback (even crits) welcome.

This is a product of my "Monday night music nights" with my friend and songwriting partner Paul Frick.  We actually tracked this back in 2015, Nov/Dec, but never did a final mix on it until a month or so ago.  We had some fun adding all the car sounds.  Hope you enjoy it!

Welcome back Walt! This track is really cool, and the cars zipping around more so. This gets the award for panning.

I was thinking I heard some conga drums or something, but maybe just for a second? Maybe it was a synthy hi tom or something. Anyway, for more kitchen sink fun, you might add a funky conga beat somewhere, just an idearrr. You probably thought of that one already!

Mix is clear as crystal as usual, nice job!

Beautiful.  I was thinking of hearing this from the bandstand at a concert, sitting in a field.  Sunny day.  Really great stuff.  I might have made a tempo change around 3 minutes.  I think about 3:10 you started a guitar solo, maybe you could elaborate on that.  That seems to be the turning point in your composition and needs something more.  :D:D  Of course, it depends on your goals for it.

Nice work on this Walt (and Paul). I like the car samples, which are not too overpowering. Nicely laid back and chilled out for sure

Nice crystal clear instruments, as usual.  Seems to be a bit repetitive, though.  I was waiting for a chorus or something.  Taking another listen right now.  Yes, I like the pattern but seems there could be some chord changes.  Which car are you driving?

Best car sound effect I've ever heard was the one where you sat in the car and there was complete silence as the car door shut with that expensive car sound. Then the purr of the engine starting. I think that would have been a bit more chill than all of the racing cars, lol.

Very cool track Walt! Nice Nice bass groove and the guitars are lovely.

The way this gradually gets going is really nice! Then, once it hit its groove, I pictured a movie sequence, no dialogue, just this music underscoring a somewhat sinister, sharply dressed character as he steps out into the big-city night and completes a series of odd but precisely planned tasks ....
    Very cool :)

Nice groove Walt. Like the velocity envelopes on the keys. Nice touch.

My only criticism is the high hats(shaker?) are way too up front for the genre. Either a severe eq cut or drop them down 2-3db. Then they will blend in better.

Nice stuff as always Walt, I agree with whomever said it above a little breakdown or subtle tempo change would of perhaps just added some icing on this.  Thanks for sharing and not so long to the next one.

@emeraldsoul - Thanks Tom!  You know I love your work and always appreciate your thoughts.

@eph221 - Thank you for the listen and your creative ideas.  Your comments are appreciated!

@synkrotron - Thanks Andy.  I wish I had your patience with music, as evidenced by so many of your songs.  I'm trying to let things breathe more and not be so rush rush rush getting to the next theme all the time.  Like you, I'm not trying to write pop songs any more.

@evadianepug - Hey thanks Warren.  I'm in a slow car, parked in the bushes just off camera. ;)  I've been trying to distance myself from my long-practiced pop/rock/blues tendencies and gravitate more towards IDM/ambient.  It's a whole new way of thinking, but I admit it's not for everyone.

@dcumpian - Thanks Dan.  I've been trying to use guitar more in my electronic music, so I'm glad you enjoyed it.  I'm not a super fast picker, so I mostly try to play melodically, and I think it works well with the synths that way.

@Passive Drift - Appreciate your comments Dave!  Yeah the car sound bytes were fun.  They're part of a big licensed sound FX library I bought a while back, called "The General Series 6000" (https://www.sound-ideas.com/Product/42/General-Series-6000 ).  It was kinda expensive, but it's really served me well over many years now.  The sounds are well indexed, and high quality.  Every time I go in there I find something useful, and it makes my stuff more fun and interesting.

@BMOG - Thanks for listening, and glad you found it relaxing. :)

@skinnybones lampshade - Thanks Laura!  I really appreciate you adding your creativity here.  I'd certainly love to hear this on a spy movie or tv show. :)

@daryl1968 - Thanks Daryl, glad you liked it!  Being more of an IDM track I kind of expect many of the folks here (who have more Pop/rock preferences) to be a bit bored, expecting something like Verse/chorus/bridge arrangement.  This track has more of a building/breakdown/interaction style of production (as most of my electronic pieces do lately).

@jamesyoyo - Thanks James!  Actually the hihat was the first two tracks I laid down on this song.  I used Addictive Drums, and played the hats using Ableton Push pads, via I think 5 or 6 different hat samples.  I thought it came off with a pretty natural feel and decided to use it to drive the song rhythmically, rather than blend into the background.  That being said, your astute genre detection powers are noted, and if/when we do a remix on this one I will likely drop a db or two on the hats as you suggest.  Thanks!

@Leizer - Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it. :)

@philz - Appreciate the kind words Phil, thanks for taking the time to give it a listen!

@BASSJOKER - Thanks Steve, glad you liked it!

@Wookiee - Thanks John, your words are always appreciated.  I promise to make more music soon. :)

    Playing catch-up once again...

Sounds good!   Mix is very clear and articulate, with everything placed well.    Cool groove happening with a slowly evolving cast of characters over top.   Loved the guitar lines as a nice organic counterpoint, and of course the car sounds.

Very smooth mix and arrangement.  Guitars are groovy.  The piece had a 70s feel to me and would have worked well in a movie from that era.  That was a good listen
