Radius.

One day it suddenly struck me that no one has ever written a song or music to celebrate the distance between the centre of a circle and it's perimeter,

I sought to rectify this criminally neglegent state of affairs and came up with this.   (well somebody had to do it)

I think you'll agree it captures the subject matter perfectly.

This is'nt a brand new one, but one i've had on the back burner for a long time because i was never able to mix it very well due to the ridiculous ammount of layers i used. Because i'm a stubbon sod i refused to remove any.
Every time i tried to mix it , it just sounded like a chaotic mess.  Still might in fact.

t was meant as an opening sort of track for a possible album and i may use it sometime if that comes to pass.

Now my mixing is a bit better i had another go and it's getting there i think.

See what you think anyway.  http://www.soundclick.com...nfo&songID=4717007

Wow! Many different surprise textures in this. You sure do have a knack for this stuff. The mix sounds great to me. I love the many layers and the ambience you created here. Great stuff!

blipp - i see your radius and raise you a diameter!

listening to a lot of your stuff (you're too bloody prolific, stop it) i see you're not one to let an idea blossom too much, but keep moving things along. in this track it works, i love the arpeggiation you have on lotsa these synths. they all work together, each having a different sonic space. the whole effect is akin to hearing a 5.1 dvd for the first time...

You know... I think that the "negative space" here, and then how you've chosen to fill it - is most impressive... You really take your time on the build up here, and at first I wasn't sure if we were going anywhere (but I KNEW better... oh, I did)... although once things started happening, I appreciated the graduality of it all... What's interesting is the way in which it stops being a 2-D pencil rendering and begins to lift off of the page....

    Nice one, Blipp.

I think you're hearing a 5.1 effect beacause i fed it through the "blippatron"   It's a highly top secret piece of gear that even i don't know what's in it.   Got it shipped from planet blipp last week.  Got stung by earth's customs tax too.  Damn intergalactic import duty laws

Love the arpeggios!  Write one called Diameter and make it twice as long and then one called Circumference that's 3.14... Never mind I'm being silly.

Man, you really mix things up.  Starts out so sweet, then that bass.  Once I got a handle on that, glitchy drums, then arps.  And more arps.

Its not just that you crank out songs (and damn good ones at that), but you crank out ideas like pancakes w/in the songs.  That's Blipp, always keeping it interesting.  And well produced, played yada yada yada as always.  You never seem to post a clunker.  And I love the change at 4:00 with all the bouncing pans.  Loverly.

One of my favourites of yours so far John, this sounds fantastic through my headphones. I get a 'clock face' image during the intro, from the panning..well, it's a circle, right?

Beautifully built and arranged, I really like this.

I thought a circle was what I always went around in.  If I knew there was a radius I could have followed it out.  What??  Hey, I think you explained it perfectly.  I am now kicking out my geometry learning and going to Blippometry.  Nice thingys buddy.  I get entranced when I listen to your stuff.  That thingy underneath about 2:40 freaks me out.  HeHeHe.
