Rampage collaboration

Hi guys,

This is the first collaboration that I've done with people from this forum. It's been great working with other talented people.
The Track came about thanks to Tony whom gave me a 8 bar progression with drums and a simple melody. I did my part in adding the orchestra and expanding the the musical ideas. Tony brought in Cian and Ruby to put in some excellent vocal performances to turn it into a song, then it was back to me to make the original music jell better. Tony then went on to do the arrangement, write the drums and mix the final version that we have before us.

So please take a listen or 2 and give us some honest feedback.
All the best,
       Gus

Interesting vocal effects almost 3D in some places though in the earlier parts I found them a little too forward.

The mix works well here though the percussion sounds a little understated.

Good work peeps with some fine singing.

Thanks for putting your fluffy ears on it. I can't really tell you what went into the mixing.

    Awesome track!

Seriously though, collaborations really helps round up your music skills, this track brought 4 people together with 4 different styles of music and I think it worked out really well.

Very nice!   Clear mix, nice wide stage.  The orchestration sounds great, and the vocals are right on the money (love the falsetto breaks).   Interesting combination of styles too, cool.

Yeah, nice work.  Mix is "wide" I like it.  Nice song.   The more I listened the more I liked it.

Excellent guys. You should do this more often!! Top notch music. You sound as if you've worked together for a long time.

A couple of things I might have tried ...purely subjective. I would have tried to get more harmonies on Cians vocal in places and I might have had the bass drum a bit busier in places to add more interest, maybe some 8th notes  on the upbeat...of course it's wonderful as it is.

Hey man that a great idea of the bass notes. I'll use that method in the future. But not on this one I made over 20 mixes so far. And the one you just herd is the final. I agreed with harmanies too

wow...lots going on here....from a production standpoint she gets really high marks just based on inter-fusing all these different elements. the performances were all stellar and the tune reeks with gobs and gobs of talent.

if there's any nit-to-pic for me it would be that I found it hard to grab a melody line to hold of to carry my interest throughout the tune....this is not to say its not there, and since this is not my normal cup o tea could be all on my end but that is what these old ears are hearing...

    great job folks!

    Great feedback.

Tony is right, this mix is done, there is only so much tweaking you do before the tune starts going backwords.

I would agree that there is no real main hook to the song, but its one that is appreciated with plenty of listens.
