not working in what sense, can u go into more detail and what setup your using? (cpu ? windows? controller? soundcard?)

there are odd quirks I have come across that vanished when I changed my sound card.

I'll try later and see how I get on

    edit :

ok I checked it out using both the original one + the update to 3.1 944 sx3.. no joy.

I think the issue is that it doesn't see rapture in the instrument list, it does in the vst-i rack, but not the bit where u select the midi input / output.

Dimension pro works fine.. so does rapture LE... (both based on same engine, and LE isn't that much different from the full one, just are bits disabled in the LE one) .

since sx3 is now legacy product, I doubt you'll get much help from steinberg. it's just odd rapture LE works fine.. I didn't try with v1 of it.. since I'd upgraded to 1.1 as I'm a sonar and cubase 4 user. (works fine in both of them).

personally, I'd upgrade the sequencer or change it. SX3 doesn't have native side chaining for a start, up to you really. I only kept it installed so I could import older "arr" files etc that version 4 doesn't support.

I wonder what has changed though. I mean I'm pretty sure that part of the code would have been left untouched when they altered the source code for other things. Are you running an intel or amd set-up also?

also the fact rapture LE / DP LE / dimension pro work fine. Same with the other ones, I guess it's pretty much bit of standard code. Since I'm not the programmer of have access to the source code, I couldn't say. It's just odd that it only does it ONLY with sx3.

did you submit a bug report also?

    http://www.cakewalk.com/support/probrep/default.aspx

although René does post here sometimes, I'd try going back to support again via that form for a start if you haven't already.

i submitted a bug report long time ago...
the answer was like: we know this.... it's a cubase sx3 problem!
i remember a post where this problem was related to the switch from vst 2.3 to vst 2.4. i think rene claimed that cubase isn't fully vst 2.4 compatible ?!?
im running a q6600 on a asus striker extreme board

so upgrade or change your sequencer then , is the short answer or use v1

I had to with a sound card that became legacy and caused far more issues (pity, but that's how it goes)

you heard from Rene before, he's the one person who would know what is going on with this if anyone does.
