on my computer it is a VST plug-in only. It is not a stand-alone soft synth. Sorry to add to your confusion. Dim Pro has a Microhost (just as Rapture has a Microhost) that allows it to be used stand-alone. I can't remember where you find it, but if you are interested Google it. My guess is that I discovered it via the Sonarama P5/Sonar Wiki that is referred to in the stickies on this forum. My point in mentioning inputs was just to illustrate the potential ambiguity that ASIO presents. I don't know if that is why Rapture (and Dim Pro ) exhibit their duplicate outputs. But actually, it doesn't really matter - as "bugs" go it's benign, so why don't you just stop worrying about it? (I don't mean to be patronising there, but I haven't grasped why you think it is such a big deal - see scook's similar advice.

Yes Dim Pro does have an unofficial microhost supplied by René as a separate download. I forget the link but I think it can be found via the Wiki.

When I try to download the update I get not registered. I did that when I got Sonar. I received my registration notice and number and it said I'm registered. What can I do?

Just noticed, that after last update Rapture sounds are opening much quicker in Kore2, which I'm using as sound manager. Thanks for it!

After installing 1.2 Rapture Pro no longer produces sound. ULTRA FRUSTRATED WITH CAKEWALK. I have made numerous attempts to get Rapture Pro to work on my Vista machine. I finally got Rapture working after changing the default install page from program files(x86) to just program files. I had to do the same thing for Dimension Pro to finally install. Anyway, I installed the 1.2 update and soon as I did two things happened, first the registration code entry screen started to open again, with no way to install the registration code. The field is locked from input. AGAIN ULTRA FRUSTRATING. And Second Rapture opens, it even sees the two expansion packs but after selecting an instrument no sound comes out. Of course I tested Sonar with other instruments, even Rapture LE and everything works fine, and I have made sure that all the input and out put setting on the track are set properly,, so it is just Rapture Pro that is not working. PLEASE HELP!.... Maybe the loss of sound output is due to the registration screen???? ******************** One other separate less important question... I just upgraded to Sonar 8 (I swore I wouldn't until Cakewalk help me fix my instrument problems) but I finally did anyway. A questions that I have asked a couple of time and have not gotten a response... Since I already own Dimension Pro, is there anything on the Dimension Pro Disc that ships with Sonar 8 that is not already installed, i.e. extra instruments, etc. I thought I saw something about extra Pianos, and Organs. If there is more content how do I go about installing the new content without messing up my current installation that is finally working?

Update to my last post.... After reading through several forums I was able to find a way to put in my Rapture pro register code. I still have the problem of NO SOUND. BTW - any one searching for this in the future,, if you are on a Vista machine,,, to register Rapture you need to open Sonar as an Administrator. Go to program files, cakewalk right click on the exe and choose open as administrator. Once in Sonar open up Rapture (add soft synth) and now your registration code window will let you install the code. Interesting thing about this,,, I thought this might be the problem so I tried to open the Rapture.exe as administrator and it did not work. As usual spending hours and hours trying to get Cakewalk products to work rather than spending time making music.

I've bought Raptor 1.1 and would like to update to version 1.2 or 1.2.1. The Serial number is shown in "My Registrations" on my account but if I try to download the 1.2 update < http://www.cakewalk.com/S...kb/kb20090428.aspx> the download procedure asks for the serial number. After entering the correct (and already registered) serial number the message is "The serial number you have provided is not registered, before accessing this update you must register. Take me to the registration page!" Trying to register my serial number once more results in a "already registered" message. Its a Layer-8 problem (thats me)? No answer from support since 2 days. Regards Michael
